BIOGRAPHY NOTES
Dennis Harmon is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 1979 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and from the law school at Ole Miss in 1985.
He is in the private practice of law and has been since 1985. Before that, he was a design engineer for AB BAHCO, a Swedish Company, which sold--among other things--pollution control equipment and engineered reclamation systems for the pulp and paper industry. Before that, he was design and research engineer at Combustion Engineering in the area of the chemical plans used to remove the sulfur from the exhaust of coal-fired boilers in utility applications. Immediately before designing chemical systems, he was Ole Miss's debate coach. He worked his way through school as a co-op student with Alabama Power Company.
He is an Eagle Scout; past Master of the Masonic Lodge; and is an Elder and the Sunday School Superintendent at First Presbyterian Church. He is the Crime Stoppers counsel and one of its founders.
He is married to the former Jane Austin and practices law in Alabama and Mississippi
